Location:  Berea, Ohio

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 commensurate with experience

Essential Roles and Responsibilities 

• Lead safety efforts including preparation and compliance with approved safety plan 

• Developing the scope of geotechnical investigation and preparing proposals.  

• Supervising the work of engineering staff, technicians, and other laboratory staff, and other support personnel. 

• Teachable. Some components of this profession are not taught in schools, so a strong desire to be a lifelong learner of new ideas and concepts will be paramount. 

• Responsible. Self-starter with willingness to interact as a team player and take independent initiative to ensure tasks are completed. 

• Effective Communicator. Ability to convey complex information to internal and external clients clearly with excellent writing and oral skills. 

• Problem-solver. Ability to solve minor or complex problems using data, logic, judgement, and problem-solving tools. 

• Professional. Lead interactions with client and stakeholders to ensure their goals are being considered in execution of the work and communication of project progress. 

• Risk Mitigator. Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies. 

• Highly Technical. Conduct in-depth engineering analysis, investigations and calculations. 

 

What it takes to be successful in this role 

• Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering 

• Professional Engineering License 

• Effective written and verbal communication skills 

• Valid OH Driver’s License 

 

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication 

• Ability to work outdoors occasionally
